In 2016, special events will take place across the world to mark 400 years since the death of William Shakespeare – playwright, poet, actor, and arguably the greatest writer the English language has ever known.

SEST is joining in the celebrations with their tribute to the great Bard:

The programme features a comeback performance of Macbeth, which played to full houses at Musikvalvet Baggen in November, some of Shakespeare’s most fascinating female characters take the stage in the performance Angry Shrews and Merry Wives, plus sonnets, tales of the great man’s life and times and Shakespearean insults! If you are lucky you might even spot the Bard himself lurking in the vaults…

The performance lasts around three hours, including two breaks during which alcoholic drinks, tea, coffee etc. can be purchased in the bar. Please note that payments at Musikvalvet must be in cash or via Swish.

Playing in the historical venue of Musikvalvet Baggen (older than the Bard himself!), the celebrations kick off on Friday the 22^nd of April at 7 pm with a performance of Macbeth. Tickets 200:-, students/unemployed/pensioners 170:- (inclusive of booking fee).

On Saturday and Sunday the 23^rd and 24^th we invite the audience to the longer programme, SHAKESPEARE 400 starting at 7pm on Saturday and matinee at 3pm on Sunday.

Course description:

This one-day presentation course looks at all the factors that affect how confidently you deliver any presentation in English, anywhere.

It will help you look forward to your next presentation instead of wishing you were still under the duvet.

The course offers simple, easy to practise tools to help you cope with nerves, get your message across memorably, structure your material for the best impact and make a presentation to audiences of various sizes.

It is fun and effective with plenty of opportunities to practise!

Course Objectives:

• What already works about you as a presenter?
• Developing a unique individual style
• Understanding what happens with mind and body in front of an audience
• Improving voice and body language
• Enlivening your presentation
• Maintaining confidence and handling nerves

Course criteria:

The course is ideal for professionals who use the English language in their working environment. Both native and non-native speakers can apply but a good standard of English is required.

Date and Price:

Saturday the 12^th of March 2016, 10:00-16:00. Venue in central Stockholm to be confirmed. Cost 3000kr.

The coaching is conducted by SEST founders Ingela Lundh and Kristina Leon, both of whom have  extensive experience from their respective training as well as in audition technique and voice work from the UK. Kristina trained at The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and Ingela at East 15 Acting School and with the acclaimed voice teacher Patsy Rodenburg, OBE. Ingela has also worked as voice coach and consultant with the leadership consultancy company Edward Lynx. SEST’s methods involve freeing up voices that have gone into ‘hiding’ and discovering the full potential of the natural voice and pitch as well as exercises to improve body language.
